Opportunities for meaningful connections in April!
The month of April is rich in its offerings! From our friends at Golden West College in California, to one of the largest Israeli-Palestinian peace events, to the Untold Stories of our first 2021 Community Call. We hope you'll find time for one or ALL of these wonderful April offerings!
Community Calls are back!
Untold Stories: Listening from the heart
We strongly believe that story, empathy, and heart to heart listening are cornerstones in peacebuilding. There is a clear need to hold space for unheard voices and messages and build a greater capacity for empathy. This year our Community Calls will focus on the theme Untold Stories.
Ilarion Merculieff, raised on the St. Paul Island in the middle of the Bering Sea, at the age of 4, was given his traditional Unangan (Aleut) name: Kuuyux, which means a messenger; carrier of ancient knowledge into modern times. Today he is President of GCILL - Global Center for Indigenous Leadership and Lifeways and Co-Founder and ongoing key speaker for the Wisdom Weavers of the World. Euphrates Founder, Janessa Wilder, will facilitate this important dialogue centered on listening to the heart.
Join us this Friday, April 2nd at 9am, PDT / 12pm, EDT / 4pm, GMT

Euphrates recommends...
Sulaiman Khatib, twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, is the co-director and co-founder of Combatants for Peace, a grassroots nonviolence movement in Israel and Palestine and now a published author. Souli has been a part of our Euphrates community for some time now. Some of you might remember our May 2020 Community Call when he shared the importance of hope and that it has the power to transform each of us.
In This Place Together: A Palestinian's Journey to Collective Liberation opens us up to the dangers and hopes of working with others across vast differences in power and experience. It opens a new space, shapes a third narrative, and finds another world that can exist. In the book Souli asked Penina Eilberg-Schwartz, an American Jew, to write with him, Khatib shares how his activism became deeply rooted in the belief that we must ground all work—from dialogue to direct action to healing—in recognition of the history and humanity of the other.
