We hear so many stories of hatred, fear, violence, and suffering. But there are also stories right now of people working for a liberated, peaceful, and just future. There are endless tales of hope. Through conscious and ethical storytelling, we amplify diverse narratives and share these hopeful stories to inspire others to write new stories in their own lives of compassion, transformation, and peace.
We believe storytelling is a powerful tool for peace practice. Through storytelling, we can deepen our relationship to our inner selves, to each other, within our communities, and use narratives to transform systems for sustainable, collective, healing change. Inspiring leaders understand the value of storytelling as a way to connect people for action and engagement, and we work with visionary peace leaders around the world to grow as artisans, sharers, and champions of peace leadership stories and realities.
Through the art of ethical storytelling and documentary filmmaking, we support peacebuilders in sharing and amplifying their stories, documenting their efforts, and embracing joyful, authentic, and connected storytelling. Peace leader stories uplift grassroots models of building and sustaining peace, offer messages and practices for embodied and effective peacebuilding for audiences around the world, and inspire others to practice peace in their communities. When we learn the story of another, we open an opportunity to see what’s possible within ourselves and how we, too, can practice and contribute to peace. Euphrates utilizes a multimedia approach aimed at transforming the discordant narratives that isolate and tear us apart, to live into a future in which all humanity lives from oneness with each other and the earth. We envision real narrative change. We envision a shift away from the stories of the dominant center into a richer, more comprehensive global narrative that actualizes a connected, loving, sustainable, compassionate, just future for all people and our planet.
