With Deep Gratitude to Chuck Wattles
We wish to take this moment to extend our deepest thanks to Chuck Wattles, our longest-standing Board member, as he retires from his role on the Euphrates Board of Directors. Chuck has been a steady and inspiring presence in our organization for the past 14 years, including serving as Board Chairman. His patience, discernment, and deep commitment to peace have played an instrumental role in shaping Euphrates’ path.
Chuck is a lifelong peacebuilder. With an unwavering willingness to serve others, he has lived and worked in underdeveloped and conflict-affected regions, including Sudan, the West Bank, and Gaza. He has supported marginalized youth, elevated unheard voices, and engaged thoughtfully with both local and global issues. Over the course of a 25-year career, Chuck brought leadership and compassion to nonprofit organizations and government service programs, serving as Executive Director, Program Manager, Consultant, and Board member in multicultural contexts both at home and abroad. His strategic planning, financial management, and training expertise have been grounded in a deep sense of vision, integrity, and care.
Chuck joined the Euphrates Board in 2011 and his impact has been profound. His compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support were especially critical in the early years of the organization. Whether navigating complex decisions or offering a kind word in challenging times, Chuck led with love—always choosing peace.
Chuck, your presence has been a gift to all of us. Thank you for the grace, integrity, and heart you’ve brought to this work. Your humility and compassion helped shape a culture where every voice felt heard and valued. Your presence, discernment, and sense of humor will be deeply missed on our Board calls—and carried forward in all that we do.
